Each year, the federal Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) requires states to report on three child outcomes for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers as part of their State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR). The California Department of Education, Special Education Division uses Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) results submitted by its special education programs to calculate children’s progress on these child outcomes.
The three SPP Child Outcomes are:
- Outcome 1) Positive Social-Emotional Skills (including social relationships),
- Outcome 2) Use of Acquisition and Use of Knowledge and Skills, and
- Outcome 3) Taking Use of Appropriate Behaviors to Meet Needs.
The following tables illustrate how the measures of the DRDP Infant and Toddler View (I/T) and Preschool Transitional Kindergarten View (PTK) correspond to the three child outcomes.
