Coming Soon: 2022-2023 Required DRDP Training for Special Education

The California Department of Education, Special Education Division requires that all early childhood special educators who assess children with the DRDP complete annual training. SELPAs are responsible for assuring that all special educators who administer the DRDP complete this requirement.

This year's course, "Using DR Access Reports," launching February 16 in DR Access Learn:

  • guides assessors to produce, understand, and use reports of DRDP results
  • should take 20 - 30 minutes to complete in one or more sittings
  • is not dependent on a passing score to earn a certificate of course completion

Upon completion of the courses, Using the DRDP (2015) for Special Education and Benny Having a Snack, assessors are automatically registered for the new course. New assessors should create an account in DR Access Learn to complete all courses.

Assessors must complete the DRDP (2015) for all eligible children regardless of training completion.

Updated DR Access LEARN course completion reports will be sent to SELPA directors at the end of January 2023 and throughout the year.
