Major Change in Use of the DRDP Instruments for Preschool Special Education:
Beginning September 1, 2009 all new preschool-age children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) will be assessed using only the Desired Results Development Profile (DRDP) access. This change does not affect preschool-age children with IEPs who were assessed prior to September 1, 2009; these children will continue to be assessed with the same instrument that was previously used, whether the DRDP access or the DRDP-R. SEDRS / Reporting Data
The Special Education Desired Results System (SEDRS) is a secure web-based system designed to collect and report Desired Results Developmental Profile data for three to five year old children with IEPs who are receiving preschool special education services. Special Education Local Planning Agencies (SELPAs) submit the DRDP assessment records of eligible children into SEDRS twice a year. After data are submitted, SELPAs are able to query assessment records, print developmental status and progress reports for individual children, and download complete data files. At the end of each assessment period, the SELPAs certify to the California Department of Education, Special Education Division that their records are complete.
